HOW TO BECOME A WILSON'S MILLS POLICE OFFICER
Anyone interested in a careet with the Wilson's Mills Police Department must complete a
Town of Wilson's Mills Employment Application and a
Criminal Justice Form F-3. Applications are processed by the Lieutenant and should be delivered to the address below.

Processing of police applications takes approximately three to five months. Requirements and procedures have been established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and the Wilson's Mills Police Department.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
All applicants must be a high school graduate or have successfully completed a General Education Development (GED) program; however, applicants with university or college degrees are highly desired.
All applicants must have successfully completed Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) in order to be considered for employment.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
All officers must live within a thirty (30) mile radius of the contiguous town limits of Wilson's Mills. Applicants who do not live within the thirty mile limit will have one year from the date of hire to move within the limit.
STARTING SALARY
$30,000 No prior experience or degree with up to a 5% increase in salary if qualifications are met within the first six months of employment.
